What we build
LocalOps Studio is operated by SkyCang, an independent studio that also makes ScanSheet (a phone barcode scanner for spreadsheets) and TapLoop Arcade (a small collection of browser games). LocalOps is the utility shelf: PDF merging, CSV cleaning, image compression, QR batches, UTM links, time zone planning, JSON formatting, redaction, hashing, UUIDs, Base64, regex testing, color contrast, and Markdown conversion.
Every tool is free to use without an account. There is no upload step, no queue, and no watermark. The tools work offline after the page has loaded, which is only possible because the processing code runs on your device.
How we work
- Local-first by default: file and text processing stays in the browser tab.
- No dark patterns: no forced sign-up, no fake urgency, no hidden limits.
- Boring reliability: the tools should still work when the network is slow or the device is old.
- Plain language: every page explains what happens to your data without legal fog.
- Small surface area: fewer features, but each one is tested and explained.
How the products make money
LocalOps Studio itself is free. The studio is funded by ScanSheet Pro subscriptions and by advertising on TapLoop Arcade. We do not sell user data, and we do not build advertising profiles from tool inputs. Because files and text never leave the browser, there is nothing to sell even if we wanted to.
What we are not
We are not a storage company. There is no account dashboard for your files, because we do not receive them. We are not an enterprise document platform, and we do not pretend a browser tab is the right place for every job. When a task needs OCR, page-level PDF editing, or a server-side workflow, we say so and point you to the right class of tool.
How we choose what to build
We pick a product when three things are true: the job repeats often, the browser can do it without a server, and the existing options are either clumsy or invasive. A tool that needs a server for the core job is a different kind of product, and we usually leave it alone.
Before building, we write down the smallest useful version and the privacy claim it must keep. If the claim cannot survive a network-tab inspection, the design changes.
How to evaluate us
Read the privacy page, open the network panel, and test the tool with a file you would not email to a stranger. If something does not match the claim, tell us. We would rather fix the gap than defend the copy.
We also publish limits: file sizes, browser memory, and cases where a desktop tool is the better choice. A vendor that hides those limits is not helping you plan.
A note on longevity
We build for tools that should still work in a few years. That means avoiding framework churn where a browser API is enough, keeping pages readable without JavaScript where possible, and publishing limits instead of hiding them.
If a product no longer makes sense, we would rather announce a wind-down and keep exports working than leave users with a dead link.
